There’s a lot of water on beaches in high-tide but where does this water go once it is low-tide? Does it concentrate elsewhere?
Explain Like I'm 5 (ELI5)
Objective and layman-
ELI5: What exactly is dust? Where does it come from and how the heck does it get everywhere regardless of what measures you take (e.g. covering things in plastic)?
ELI5: What exactly does radiation poisoning do to our bodies, and how does medicine cure it?
ELI5: Why are 9mm bullets less dangerous than 7.62 or even 5.56 ones? Shouldn’t they deal more damage with bigger size?
ELI5: When you remove a tumor, does it leave a gap in the organ/tissue it was removed from?
Disclaimer: Yes, I am perfectly aware that medical dramas are works of fiction and often over exaggerated.
So I was watching a medical drama, and they were removing a brain tumor from the patient. The tumor was large enough that it left a sizable hole in the brain. So it got me thinking:
How accurate is this to real life tumor resection? Does the tumor leave behind a gaping hole that you have to graft or suture back together? What about in the case of a brain tumor? Does the gap stay there forever? Does it get filled?
