My birthday is Christmas Eve so no one really gives a s___. As greedy and selfish as it may sound, I don’t get presents (and what I do get I am disappointed with). For the whole fortnight around Christmas I feel ennui and so depressed I get a crushing feeling in my chest.
Please Help!
Today’s Youth Are Depressed, Here’s Why…
George is happy…wait…no he’s not
smartwin02: If anything you can try to orchestrate a secret Santa or white elephant amongst friends or family. I understand what you mean about opening at least one present that you will enjoy so maybe try to get the people you spend the most time around to join you in a a secret Santa so that maybe you could get at least one gift to possibly like.
If not do something else instead. Christmas is just one day, on the other days do other things that make you happy. Don’t let one day ruin your whole month.
boxy1988: Thanks guys. I will refloat the idea of a half birthday with my partner. I usually get told off whenever I express feelings, emotions and opinions.
I’ll try the secret Santa next year too. I live in another state than my family so I don’t get to see them but I’ll float the idea with the people of know down here.
Fakename998: Celebrate your birthday earlier
boxy1988: What I do is be selfish, childish and depressed…
NightingaleY: Donate to a charity/volunteer instead? Do something special for your birthday with your close friends, even if it’s just dinner with one two people or even by yourself!
luckycharms4life: I don’t get birthday presents for my birthday either. Most people don’t. It’s adulting.
Stop focusing on what you don’t have. Focus on what you do.
