Once a gymnast, always a gymnast
16 year old guy, so obviously pretty late and I’m unsure of how to begin
I’ve always been pretty flexible (I can stretch kick myself in the face for example) and I’ve always been interested in flipping and springing, but I’ve never been able to get into it.
Any advice on how to begin?
I’m not too into the balance beam or doing routines that require tons of strength, im more interested in the acrobatics portion, like flipping around
indigogalaxy_: The flipping around on the floor part is referred to as “tumbling” just for your reference. Not sure how you can begin classes as an adult but yoga would probably help with balance and center of gravity, crossfit may be good if you want to do rings. One thing that always has helped me is to remember to be very aware of your muscles and flex from head to toe. Good luck!
Edit: oh, at 16yo you probably still have options for classes at a local gym! Call around, there are probably competitive and noncompetitive class levels.
