Quotes
DethFiesta: Most of the Framers were Deists. It was an extremely common point of view among the educated during the Enlightenment.
something4222: So basically we’re one of the saves in God’s SimWorld game that he looked at after a few days, went “meh,” and then moved on to start a new file.
I feel you, God.
jverity: TIL I’m an agnostic deist. I’m note sure if there’s a god or not, but if there is, I don’t believe he screws with the universe he made.
coatrack68: I thought most of the founding fathers were?
roadtrip-ne: The idea that the universe is a simulation also supports a creator that does not interfere with the program once running.
nerbovig: Amazing that it was controversial to *not* think that our day-to-day actions could incite God to act for or against us.

toUser: Cool but what does that have to do with net neutrality!!!!!!!?????
A40: “What we call ‘God’ was a *huge.. single*… event. An inconceivable.. *explosion* of creation, a.. *large boom!”*
brittleknight: I love the Jefferson bible so unique
jumbee85: A few of the founding fathers were
sppratam: On the seventh day, God rested.
An object at rest tends to remain at rest.
WhatACunningHam: I’m thinking the universe came about like the invention of fireworks. God was cooking, decided to experiment, and shit just blew up.
screenwritingguy: Ethan Allen was also a Deist. Many of the founding fathers were, I feel like.
