Using the iPhone as an example, hold the shutter button down when shooting photos of people or anything in motion. You should hold for as long as reasonable and get as many shots as time or storage permits. You see it quickly takes a lot of photos!

Afterwards, go to the Camera Roll and select the burst (it looks like a stack of images). You can then quickly analyze them by tapping “Select…” and then flipping through the images by scrolling left or right, selecting only the one or some you like, then dropping the rest and recovering storage space.

YSK Older relatives, who you haven’t seen since last holiday season, who make cooking blunders may be showing signs of dementia

Forgetting to turn on the oven for the Christmas turkey could be a sign of early dementia in a loved one, says the NHS’s top dementia expert. Prof Alistair Burns said becoming confused in a strange house and forgetting relatives’ names may also be early signs of the disease.

He said it was important to look for changes in normal behaviour in older family members. There is usually a rise in calls to the Alzheimer’s Society in January.

Possible warning signs of dementia in older relatives:

  • disorientation or confusion when in a new place or new environment
  • forgetting the names of loved ones to the extent that it causes embarrassment
  • forgetting to buy someone’s present
  • forgetting to cook things for a big Christmas dinner, forgetting to switch the oven on or cooking things in the wrong order

YSK: You can charge USB devices even when your laptop is in sleep mode

Open Device Manager (right-click My Computer, select Properties, and Click Device Manager on the left). Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controller section. You will see a few devices called ‘USB Root Hub’. Click on each one and go to its properties. In the Properties window for each USB Root Hub, go to the Power Management tab and uncheck the ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’ option.
