    Over the past couple years I’ve seen a lot of “human grade” pet food hit the shelves (dogs and cats mostly). The “safe for human consumption” label puts a lot of people at ease

    It’s corn, soybeans, and edamame with a bit of flavoring added for taste. The point is that this is a marketing tactic to highlight that Perdue uses similarly clean foods to feed their chickens (something they’ve been criticized for not doing).

    They don’t plan on this being a best-seller. They just want it to be talked about for marketing purposes.
