Well when you have people in the media demonizing medical professionals violence is the natural outcome. But do they ever take it back or apologize? Nope they just double down. God help us if we see some major health issues coming from previous COVID cases because regardless these people are going to blame the medical community
Purely anecdotal, but as someone who has spent years in customer facing roles, shit is getting wild out here. There is a deep vitriol and toxicity at the heart of our society is really showing. People just jump to immediate maximum escalation, and threats of violence are significantly more common.
This is not news, a fairly large portion of universities have their own police forces because they are essentially small towns. When hospitals are attached to them it only makes financial sense to use those officers as hospital security.
For the record I’m not here to discuss the ethics of this just pointing out that this is not anything new.

I don’t think it is particularly rare for a large hospital with a large campus to have a police force, much the way universities have them
