Jfc they got dark with this. At first I thought it was kinda shitty but made sense, saves them money on repo and all and has the same end result.
Driving it to a junkyard is *evil* and there’s no way there should be allowed. It’s just adding pollution. The company gains nothing and the person loses the vehicle that obviously still runs. That’s the first red flag.
Edit: meant to ad this quote and misclicked.
>The first lost functions would be minor inconveniences like “cruise control, automated window controls, automated seat controls, and some components of the infotainment system (radio, global positioning system (GPS), MP3 player, etc.)” The next level is more serious, and includes the loss of things like “the air conditioning system, a remote key fob, and an automated door lock/unlock system.” Likewise, an “incessant and unpleasant sound” may be turned on “every time the owner is present in the vehicle.”
But this is assuming that a large portion of Ford drivers are irresponsible and ignorant enough to enter into a payment plan that they can’t sustain. Maybe everything will be fine.
Ford has been chatting it up with Case and John Deere! DRM cars and equipment. I’ll take my 24 year old “dumb” truck any day. Fuck this shit. REMEMBER every innovation for good is also one for evil!
Until it “runs over” someone’s dog or kid and the company gets sued into oblivion multiple times. Or just destruction of property by putting some stuff around it at night.
So.. go ahead and try? All it’s gonna take to bypass this thing and make millions in court is one inventive redneck.

On one hand it is creepy. On the other hand it is bad for repo men, who are creepy.

There’s going to be a country song about a dude’s wife leaving him, and the next day, his truck left him too
