Those who have been know it’s often harder to get a table here than at most Michelin restaurants. And this tip is no way official, but after walking up for two days and spending hours in line — the folks at the check-in suggested I try GS; that they may be able to “use some magic.” Well, they sure enough ended up “finding” a cancellation at the exact time I wanted, along with 7 other times. None of these times were available concurrently via the app.
tradersam: Things like this are common in many guest service roles. I once worked for a very nice theater that always “bought” a set of four seats for every film and saved them for just this kind of occasion. Guest thinks we worked magic, company only loses the cost of four tickets per sold out show.
But we didn’t talk about it, they were secret and if guests demanded we give them those seats we’d play dumb. Those were our seats, they were for making guests happy, not got saving someone who didn’t plan ahead for the showing of a sold out best picture nominee and tried buying tickets ten minutes before showtime.
