“What You Resist Persists” is a phrase in Psychology that refers to the phenomenon that the more you try to suppress or forget unpleasant feelings and memories, the more they appear to stick or even grow in size.
If you instead bring full focus and awareness to a feeling or memory that bothers you, and right after override that feeling with a message linked to kinesthetic distraction, the intensity of what bothered you will reduce dramatically.
This video shows, in detail, how to use such a method: https://youtu.be/ficOFz_OKZg

Anythingleftyo: My head doctor calls it flooding. Don’t avoid the thought but welcome it, tell it to have a seat and get comfortable. Showing it you aren’t afraid helps it go away. Like standing up to a bully.
SmallManBigMouth: Thanks for posting. This could help a lot of people (including myself) it’s quite a valuable tool.
