Kind of makes you want to go to the store where this woman is working off her sentence and get really picky about your order, doesn’t it? Let her see what it feels like to have to redo an order multiple times.
> An Ohio judge sentenced 39-year-old Rosemary Hayne to three months in jail for assault, but offered to shorten her sentence by 60 days — if she agreed to work at a fast food restaurant.
That makes more sense than “sentenced to fast food job”. And 3 months minus sixty days still leaves a month in custody. Good job, judge.
“I did not,” Hayne responded. “If I showed you how my food looked, and how my food looked a week later from that same restaurant, it’s disgusting looking.”
“I bet you won’t be happy with the food you are going to get in the jail,” the judge retorted.
I’m really starting to get a soft spot for the judiciary.
Why would anyone hire her? “Oh hi, I’m that famously rude asshole who treats people like shit. When can I start?” There’s no upside for a restaurant to bring her on, and I doubt the judge can force anyone to give her a chance

That’d be a rough day to wake up and find out that your job counts as a form of court-mandated punishment.

So if she threw something at a sex worker, would she be forced to work as a hooker?

If I throw stuff at a data engineer, can a judge sentence me to a data engineering job? I can’t land a decent job in tech in the current climate.

I’m curious if this is treated as a work release, volunteer work or what? If she does get paid is it Chipotle wage, minimum wage or prisoner wage?

At least she wasn’t sentenced to a call center.
