Okay, so you’re in the mafia or a biker gang or something and make your money illegally – how often do you have to be “at work?” What are the hours like? What does your week actually consist of? Are you constantly “on call,” or what? Can you take vacations..? I do not personally wish to descend into a life of crime, i’m just wondering.
Ddesh: I always thought that after watching Sons of Anarchy. It seems like they put themselves and their families in a lot of danger to live a lower middle class existence and to avoid slightly more work at a 40 hour a week job.
rewardiflost: When my job included following these guys, they really didn’t have set hours. They were called at all hours.
Certain folks had predictable tasks. Bookies were busy before games and on Sunday. Collectors made trips when the bookies called. Drug dealers and distributors were more active after dark.
Beyond that, when someone important enough calls, you do what you’re told.
csrabbit: Depends on what jobs you are doing and how good you are at them.
If selling drugs is your thing, you are basically on call and working 24hrs a day, if you want to make money.
If you are hitman, you’d just do jobs here and there because they would pay a lot more.
If you were a robber, you’d mainly work at night, and probably case and plan by day.
secretWolfMan: As many as is needed.
If you are protection for a club or senior member, then your time commitment is “constantly”.
If you run books or sell drugs, you’re on call all the time, but with lots of downtime when nobody is calling.
Other stuff is as needed.
A top member/boss is like a CEO. Maintaining relationships and setting direction is time consuming but also more social instead of “labor”.
D-Evolve: Depends. If your name is Jimmy ‘anytime’ Marconi… You probably best be ready
gdcalderon2: From what I can see in movies and documentaries many of these people sort of work day jobs that seem legitimate in construction and demolition and property management or waste management but they’re middle management so they can come and go during the day then probably a few evening and nights a week.
I’m also guessing it often works like a pyramid scheme where the top makes the most money with the least work but skimming all of the lower level jobs. The lower you are the more you work for the smallest amounts.
Lots42: You’re on call twenty four seven.
TheKneelDiamond: If you have a conscience I would think its 24/7.
Rhodechill: probably pulling all nighters planning right before a crime – but other times probably loose commitment? idk
you can probs determine ur hours based on how active you are
