Nothing boosts the economy more than making the whole work force sick. Look at the United States and their stunning economy right now. Brilliant. Killed like a million people during Covid and then looked around like “where da workers at????”

    Idiocy.

Actually, no. They’re not idiots. Workers are if they allow this shit.

What the actual fuck! Imagine going to the Dr’s because you’re too sick to work, and being told… Nah, you can work with that broken arm/respiratory condition. Atrocious.

You can tell these ideas are dreamed up by the rich. Do the right thing, improve minimum wage, encourage a 4 day week and actually spend some money in the UK to create jobs. Private landlord proof housing for one.

I was thinking they meant *paid* sick leave, so I read the article. No, they are that dumb. It is to force people to work while sick.

It looks like they want to stop doctors from writing notes that someone is too sick to work permanently- so they can go on disability benefits- which is a little different than saying no sick days.

In Canada getting that doctors note essentially doubles the amount you get from welfare.
