I can’t fathom being the kind of cruel idiot who looks at this and goes, “Yes, children being trained as triage nurses is definitely preferable to gun control.”
This is the most dysfunctional shit I have ever heard. Also, as someone that spent time as an army medic, fuck the people that think this is appropriate for children.
We have crossed the line into complete absurdity. I don’t know how we keep going like this in a country where there are mass shootings nearly every fucking day! Really, when is enough enough? I’m not anti gun, but when you need to insurance and to pass a written and operational test for a license to drive a car, the use of which only causes death when something goes terribly wrong, and in many states you don’t even need a license to carry a gun that is designed to kill if it works as intended, something is very wrong. Nothing in the constitution prevents requiring insurance, testing, and licensing to own a gun. We’re numb to these shootings. It’s outrageous.
Even outside of context of shootings, I don’t see the problem with teaching kids first aid. Hell it’s probably more useful than many things they’re taught.

Battlefield tourniquets are different from civilian tourniquets simply by having a camo pattern.

Extremely disappointing that this is more applicable than learning how to survive quicksand
