Superintendent candidate says job offer was rescinded after he referred to female admins as ‘ladies’ | Category: General Source
I had an a-hole boss who used to refer to the women in the office as a group as “ladies.” He was definitely suggesting they were inferior to men and needed the strong leadership of male managers. He was also very old school and spent a lot of his career as a manager for a telco in the 70s and 80s.
It was a respectful term not long ago. Things are ridiculous now

He should have just said things to see what would have happened.
Is this kinda like how “missy” is acceptable in the US South but offensive elsewhere?
Easthampton Massachusetts is what the rest of Massachusetts calls “behind the tofu curtain.” Liberal AF. Just for context. Not that there’s anything wrong with that
People are most trustworthy when they talk about a job they didn’t get apparently.
How is this site not on the automod list yet?
That is the reason in his own mind. I really doubt this story is true at all. Come on now

Like my conservative sister who’s in grad school right now and can’t land a job claiming it’s because everybody is hiring Hispanics.
Like idk sis, at the point you’re looking for jobs in a finance shop the Mexican immigrants without papers probably aren’t taking your job.
Same with this, like maybe it’s because you’re the type of guy who’d say you didn’t get a job because you called them ladies and not because you called them ladies
