the sadest part is that this is extremely common for some reason. every single woman i know has at least one story of going to a doctor with serious health issues and being told thats its just hormones or stuff like that
edit: sorry if i made it sound like i cant imagine why doctors would act this way, its clearly misogyny. i just cant wrap my head around the fact that its so common when working this job requires such in depth study of the human body
This doesn’t feel remotely oniony to me because this kind of behaviour is very common.
When I was fifteen, seeking help for a menstrual cycle that had been torturing me for 5 years already, a woman doctor told me to try having a baby because sometimes that fixes periods
Whi doesn’t have a story of a male doctor telling them that their severe iron deficiency was just hormones and hot flashes that was making them faint and almost had to give up archery because there was nothing they could do about it right as they were getting into high-school
My wife is likely heading towards an MS diagnosis. She’s experienced symptoms for years, but until her entire lower body went numb and her diaphragm became 40% paralyzed, which affected her breathing, nobody took her seriously.
These “doctors” should be curb-stomped, like in the real sense of the term. Pig-like entities like these “doctors” are the reason I really distrust this profession of bullshitters and lazy grifters. Assholes all of them.

And it’s those same types of dumbass men that love voting away women’s rights in regards to healthcare and bodily autonomy.

I feel for Selma. My mom has had MS for 30 years and is now on hospice. It’s a horrible illness.

Poor lady. Some doctors are just horrible. Like when I asked to have my tubes tied and they told me my husband might want kids. Motherfuckers.

Female patients should have female doctors.

It’s a poorly kept secret that a lot of doctors really, really suck at their jobs.

As someone with autoimmune disease, I can back her up. I was told it would clear up when I have babies.
