What? So what’s the solution? They should’ve just stopped trying after a 10 pt lead? 20pt lead? 50pt lead? Where’s the line? Tell the losers “welcome to the real world, git gud” don’t make the winners feel like they did something wrong for being superior athletes.
“We sincerly apologise that we dominated you so brutally, your loss was so catastrophic we feel guilty. I mean fuck, we really clapped those cheeks, thats our bad”
>”We’re sorry you are so bad at this game that we completely humiliated your entire athletic program. We just got caught up in the moment and didn’t realize how embarrassing this must have been for you. Next time we’ll only play on half the court but you guys can use the entire length.
If you put the third team in, guys who don’t play are having their shot. If the other team is that bad with defense, that goes to their fault. Or, that could have forfeit the game
For the record, one of my 5 games as a CYO acting head coach (dad who coached had a hip replacement the week before), we lost 78-0. The other coach came to apologize and I (17 at the time, coaching my brother’s 7th grade team in a 8th grade league) told him he didn’t have to. The boys would learn from that. I mean in CYO, all the bench warmers have to play 6 minutes out of a 24 minute game. They couldn’t shoot, and had something 20 shooting fouls. Two of the dad’s sitting with me couldn’t believe I didn’t get pissed. The high score for the season was 22. If every shot gets blocked by someone 5-6 inches taller, you aren’t going to score a lot
I *knew* it had to be the girl’s team. Sacred heart is a good school too. They were probably trying to get into UCONN on ball scholarships. uconn women’s basketball has been one of the most competitive college teams in the country for the last decade or so, the high-schools take it surprisingly seriously.
Idk I was taught to finish things win or lose. Not sure why it was the winning teams responsibility to end the game when the losing team could have thrown in the towel. I get that using a full court press is kinda cheesy but at what point do we let the other team that’s how basketball is played sometimes unless those are high school rules. Didn’t catch that in the article. Bizarre life lessons taught here
Seriously….let’s just let everyone be equal….ill score a basket and then you score a basket…then it’ll be a tie…and we’ll both win….sport is dying awfully fast these days

I hope it was the school that only got 4 that apologized

How the fuck could anyone let that happen. I know they don’t have a mercy rule, but let’s get real.

Why does it seem like the only people saying *hurr durr he did gud* weren’t the best examples of athletes?
