It’s horrible when a state is reduced to one party rule. Corruption and dysfunction are assured. California is a great example – our government is as useless as tits on a bull.

Republicans, we’re not authoritarian, also republicans,, let’s outlaw rival political groups.

Holy shit, this is like the ultimate form of that “Hurr durr *democrats* are really the racists!” bullshit. Acting like the Dixiecrat party didn’t die ages ago and the parties flipped.

It shows a lot about folks when the only way for them to win is to fuckin kneecap.

Weird how Republicans support slavery and fly the Confederate flag in support of slavery.

This would force the 40% registered democrats to influence the republicans primaries , making it easier to derail extremists

Does he think that will cause all the democrats to just Thantos snap out of existence so he can be crowned the King of Florida?

This will never actually happen, but if it did, the obvious thing to do is “dissolve” the Democratic Party in Florida and then reconstitute it as the “Demacratic Party” or some other party name. They can’t actually prevent anyone from running for office.

Maybe I view my conservative upbringing with red colored lenses, but I don’t recall it being as openly pro-authoritarian and bad faith as it is now. Petty behavior by government officials and using government to enforce a social agenda was supposed to be something the opposition did, rather than something to be embraced.

Interesting thing about Florida. Republicans only control 1/3rd of the voters and their share actually went down so far this year. But no party increased every year. Republicans better be careful. The 3rd largest voting block in the state is beholden to no one and if they did this the majority of the state would be No Party voters.

Link to Florida’s Voter Registration database: [https://dos.myflorida.com/elections/data-statistics/voter-registration-statistics/voter-registration-reports/voter-registration-by-party-affiliation/](https://dos.myflorida.com/elections/data-statistics/voter-registration-statistics/voter-registration-reports/voter-registration-by-party-affiliation/)

The whole state lost voters so far this year. Which is strange considering how many people have moved to Florida. Something weird is going on here.

This is the kind of bs that keeps me out of politics in general. I’m looking forward to whatever is inevitably next.
