My nephew’s travel ball league has a good approach. If a parent gets rowdy with an ump, that team forfeits the game. If it happens twice, that team is out of the tournament.
You’re telling me volunteering/making minimum wage to support kids in athletics isn’t worth putting up with rage filled, sometimes violent middle aged parents desperately attempting to live vicariously through their children?
That and the fact everyone has side hustles and second jobs these days. Nobody wants to spend there few free hours they get a week arguing with adults who act like children and children who are acting worse than their parents.

My friend’s kid is in a league that forces a parent for each enrolled child to volunteer as an umpire for one game. Seems like a good solution here.

Just institute a lifetime ban.
Seriously if you get aggressive on the field at a child’s game you’re banned for life.
If they come back press charges and have them arrested.

Parents throw shit at me and I’m trying to help their kids!
I’m refusing to do any non-high school football this year.

Don’t these parents understand the true meaning of their kids’ past time sports?
