Frankly Bud Light is an abomination in the eyes of the beer gods all on it’s own, without Mulvaney’s influence. The solution is for Budweiser to get back to its European roots and brew some decent beer.
I don’t have a horse in this race. On the rare occasion that I drink a beer it’s some local craft beer abomination. I’m mostly just watching the fireworks.
It isn’t just that. Had they taken a stronger stance, the left might have helped push up sales. Instead, they decided to try and please the right, who don’t want to be appeased, and left the left out to dry
I imagine it’s because the types who are fragile enough to stop buying Bud Light over this are also the types who are fragile enough to fear their “friends” will accuse them of being trans if they ever do buy it again. They probably still say “no homo.”
I don’t really have a dog in the fight- however from a pure marketing/brand standpoint, that was one of the dumbest moves of all time.
Bud lights core audience (and most devout customers), are the people who support that brand. The guys that work blue collar, grab a 6 pack (or 12 pack) on the way home. Rinse and repeat every day.
I get that Bud Light wanted to reach more audiences, but the reality is, most super progressive people don’t drink bud light. They don’t drink bud light because they don’t like Bud Light, don’t drink beer, prefer other drinks etc. they weren’t going to get a whole bunch of people to go “oh man, I’m gunna start drinking bud light because they share the same values as me”. People who don’t drink bud light don’t drink it because they don’t like it.
Don’t worry. The right wing idiot crowd has the memory of a goldfish. As soon as they have a new thing to nibble on they forget all about the last thing they were losing their shit about.
Maybe the rednecks tried another brand of beer and realized that beer doesn’t have to taste like diluted piss water *and* you can get a buzz with a couple of cans instead of 6.
I live in well,….the birthplace of Bud, ol’ St. Louis, MO.
Bud products here have not only remained the same price, but they’re even a few bucks more than Coors and Miller products, but….it’s still selling. A few quips here and there, but every gas station and grocer I’ve been to, stock isn’t any different really from one beer brand to the other. But AB does have a stronger footprint here, so naturally every place that sells beer always has a plentiful stock.
I know this isn’t the case everywhere. But given the media backlash, I half expected to go into some places to see 25% off on Bud Light just to move product, and the Miller / Coors shelves to be barren. Nope.

I went to a liquor store to get a Coors Light and the only domestic light Pilsner was Bud Light. Fucking crazy. I got the Bud Light.

The only people pissed about this are the type of guys that never wash their balls because they refuse to touch a dick. Nobody else gives a shit.

With the cans, they offended one side, but when they wouldn’t stand by it, they offended everyone else. I’m at a loss as to why sales are declining.

I stoped buying AB products, because they bent the knee to Right Wing Lunatics and I know others who has as well.

Know your customers.
Don’t go chasing customers that don’t exist.
Pretty simple.
