It seems to be fishy, at the very least. Per a comment on the linked article:
>There’s a few major issues with this post.
>1) The site looks really shoddy and the sources mentioned are flimsy at best. Also, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, which is quoted, stated that they are unaware of the incident and needed a family member to confirm. It’s important to note that bigger Nigerian news outlets are not picking up on this.
>3) A quick google search reveals that suicide is in fact not illegal in Iraq and is not considered a crime.
>4) Upon further googling, it seems that this site is a Nigerian tabloid site. Considering recent tensions between Christians and Muslims after Nigeria’s election, this seems potentially as an attempt to farm clicks and fake outrage by appealing to islamophobic and orientalist tendencies of readers online—the commenters here included.
>The immigrant, who was said to be working with “Dr Zainab Attar (Dentist) – Karadah – 0 tips,”
0 tips, lol. Someone just copy pasted the info.

>In a related development, a Nigerian student, identified only as Ikem, passed away after being brutally murdered by a group of Chinese in the Republic of Philippines.
How is that related to this in any way? Also, the whole article pretty much just state the Nigerian government has not heard of the story and ask some relative to send them an email to confirm…
In the US, we just allow people with no hope to die a slow death of neglect. All though some may eventually get beaten to death or set on fire for the crime of being homeless in public.

A soldier ran up to a nun. Out of breath he asked, “Please, may I hide under your skirt. I’ll explain later.” The nun agreed…
A moment later two Military Police ran up and asked, “Sister, have you seen a soldier?”
The nun replied, “He went that way.”
After the MPs ran off, the soldier crawled out from under her skirt and said, “I can’t thank you enough, sister. You see, I don’t want to go to Iraq.”
The nun said, “I understand completely.”
The soldier added, “I hope I’m not rude, but you have a great pair of legs!”
The nun replied, “If you had looked a little higher, you would have seen a great pair of balls…. I don’t want to go to Iraq either…
