Since the spelling for MT is with an “I” and not a “Y” you would think something would be amiss. Not to mention the price difference and the flight length.
My sister tells a story of the violinist from Japan who was booked to Fort Albany on James Bay instead of Albany NY. She played for the locals, was treated like royalty, and got the next flight out.
“Burnett said he was planning on taking a cruise from Sydney harbor.”
Unfortunately he had already exchanged his USD for dollariedoos, and hadn’t checked the exchange rate. He couldn’t afford the paddle boat he had accidentally booked.
That’s a pretty understandable mistake indeed. It reminds me of the time I accidentally booked a flight to Cincinnati instead of Calgary, but thankfully I caught it before the ticket was issued! I’m sure the man in New York was able to work out a suitable workaround and enjoy his vacation to Sidney, Montana.

Do people not check the length of the flight? There would be a huge difference here.

There was a Dutch guy a few years ago who accidentally went to Sydney, Nova Scotia. It’s a shithole.

A work buddy booked a flight to Fayetteville NC instead of Fayetteville AR. Kind of made him a day late.
