I’m not making a judgement about the older man, but it seems like the dad may have had some QAnon related issues and that he may have been looking for an excuse to act on them. He seems to be using some of the phrasing and buzzwords.
I read elsewhere that the old man was never convicted of anything related to sexual assault, but rather that the dad thought he was one, and that he also thought the old man was following his daughter, a 22 month old baby.
