Man who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 400 years is freed after 34 years in jail | Category: General Source
People wrongfully ~~convinced~~ convicted should receive some sort of benefit from the government for the rest of their life.
> Holmes was arrested in October 1988 in connection with an armed robbery that June of two people outside a convenience store in unincorporated Broward County, just west of Fort Lauderdale, according to the state attorney’s office.
Armed robbery of convenience stores gets you 400 years? Wut? (I know the dude is innocent, i mean those that are guilty)
So, he only did 8,5% of that sentence ? I’m glad he could avoid most of the consequences of this wrongful conviction.
Now to get a lawyer and get PAID. Hopefully he can live the rest of his life in luxury and get the mental help he will need.
Mr Holmes was denied the prime of his life. He denied the chance to have a family. He was denied the opportunity to have a career and earn a living. Florida owes him a pension for the rest of his life.
This is why I’m against the death penalty
