In 1952, Jimmy Carter headed a group of nuclear experts in dismantling a Canadian nuclear reactor that was experiencing a meltdown. To achieve this, Carter and other members of the American military went into the reactor themselves and manually disassembled it.

    Unfortunately SNL memory holed this somewhat relevant sketch, I can’t find any clip of it. Not sure why tbh, though SNL did some pretty offensive stuff in the 70s so maybe I’m forgetting something about it.
