The fact anyone at all wants to use apple its far behind in every technological advancement and wants to make its software and hardware incompatible on purpose is beyond me.
“If it’s Apple, then I think the biggest question is… if Apple truly cares about the privacy and security of their own iPhone users, why would they stop a service that enables their own users to now send encrypted messages to Android users, rather than using unsecure SMS?”
To answer that & play devil’s advocate, Apple will likely say that they value security & privacy so much that they cannot allow hardware they have not certified as secure to use their e2ee messaging. Many android devices still lack a cryptographic secure enclave & even if one does have this feature there is no proof this app uses it to provide provably secure e2ee.
At this point though, no laws were broken & the developer is open to start again with this game of whack-a-mole.
Apple cares about security. Well, the security of IT’S customers. Why would they care about Android users? The platform was meant to be a secure system between Apple users. Any Android user getting into the system means it needed further security measures. If Android devs can get in, so can hackers. The most reasonably secure systems are closed systems.

I know, I’ll build an app specifically designed around breaking EULA’s, what could possibly go wrong?

This quote of the CEO is interesting:-
