So they are normal HP printers then?

Since I rarely print anything, and what I do print is 95% of the time is a document, I just bought a thermal printer. Who needs ink

Got rid of mine 2 years ago after the forced firmware update that would only accept the overpriced HP cartridges. Denied that firmware update for over a year before they stopped asking and just installed it.

Why on earth would anyone purchase HP? After 15 years, I gave up.

All the way for Brother Laser!

    >HP’s Dynamic Security page notes that Dynamic Security printers require periodic firmware updates

Reading that it sounds like they also have a logic-bomb in the firmware not to work a certain date..

I quit using inkjet printers well over a decade ago, so I haven’t been paying attention to the market..

I use an ancient wired HP inkjet with refill cartridges. It’s rock solid. About all I print is tax docs once a year. But I’ve watched these latter day HP printer fiascos and it really has become a SMH company. Just awful. How long can a company remain viable with this sort of record?

HP printers have driven me almost mad on many occasions. Constantly going offline. Just absolute pieces of shit. Yet I’ve still fallen for their products numerous times in the past. I’m going to learn my lesson this time around.
