When i first visited the US years ago, i was so excited to eat some of that amazing chocolate I’d heard about for so long. I bit into my first Hershey and it was like a literal slap in the face. I was taken aback by how awful such a famous thing could taste. It was like it was a chocolate bar, but one that had been pre-eaten, vomited up and reconstituted.
Gross. Never again. Even if they remove the heavy metals.
They’re not having lead and cadmium removed, they just put out a press release making vague mumbling noises about possibly doing something at some time in the future, in the hope that people will post articles with titles like this and people will assume that problem has been taken care of and forget about it.

Hopefully they remove the butyric acid next so it doesn’t taste like literal vomit

This is the same company that used so little chocolate that it legally couldn’t be called chocolate.
As opposed to, you know, adding more chocolate. They spent millions of dollars getting the laws and definitions changed.
And that’s why American “chocolate” is the worst ‘chocolate’ in the world.
