Could ve game fantasy guns
Cue the “Russia steals YOU!” jokes lol
Not sure how this is “not the onion” material
SCIFI AUTHOR SUES SPACEX FOR STEALING SPACE SHIP DESIGN
Jesus was this article written by an AI?
[Here’s a much better article on IGN.](https://www.ign.com/articles/stolen-gun-kalashnikov-oceanic-mp-155-ultima-ward-b)
Does that site have editors?
Feels like nobody proof read that article after the AI wrote it.
Jesus fuck, does no one proofread anymore? This is LITERALLY Jr. High School level writing. Incomplete sentences, things seem like they were copy pasted, weird capitalization, etc, etc…
Terrible article aside… I mean if the game studio has a copyright on the design then they have every right to enforce it, doesn’t seem particularly oniony to me
I was expecting it to be the Gears of War Lancer (aka chainsaw gun)
Although beyond required functional elements there are some, very small design choices included in the actual gun, I really don’t see much to compare here.
Secondly, do you think a Russian company gives a flying f*ck about copyright of a western design?
Looking at the designs, alot of the “features” they are claiming are ripped off are things that are standard. Like the way the grip is designed with and without the stock, they are not the first company to do this. The way its designed alone is very much a standard. Hell my bolt action rifle is a similar design overall. It just doesnt come apart.
Shotguns having a handle like this is usually for home defense reasons to shorten the overall length of the gun. Its a shotgun, mobility is king over control. You don’t have a large concern for follow-up shots at range.
I see the real gun as INSPIRED BY the game one, but only one thing between the two is actually similar. Thats the Ultima stamped portion. Everything else is different even if the overall design is inspired by a video game.
I am looking at this link by the way: [https://www.ign.com/articles/stolen-gun-kalashnikov-oceanic-mp-155-ultima-ward-b](https://www.ign.com/articles/stolen-gun-kalashnikov-oceanic-mp-155-ultima-ward-b)
They both look terrible. The kalashnikov does look usable . I don’t see how you could actually see through the red dot on the pretend gun.
That quick release stock is probably worth suing over though.
