Why not give out free hunting permits and let people benefit? New Mexico suffers from the second highest rate of youth going hungry. https://www.krqe.com/plus/data-reporting/report-estimates-new-mexico-has-2nd-highest-food-insecurity-for-youth/amp/

“These unowned feral cattle need to be removed because they are incompatible with the environment, they are destructive, pestilent, offensive (obnoxious) and injurious (inflicting injury) to man and forest resources,” Gila National Forest biologist Jerry Monzingo wrote.

Why not have hunters take them for food?

When animals like that go wild in an area, they might as well be considered to be a resource.

This is not Oniony at all. These are invasive species that are destroying the ecosystem.

For the people posting hunting them I would normally agree with this. The problem here is this is a large spread out area it would take a lot of people to do it. They would cause damage to the ecosystem as well. The only way to get the meat out would be helicopter or ATV which would be really destructive.

NZ did this with deer and goats in remote areas.

Seems like a dick, lazy solution.
