They just handed that family’s lawyer a very easy case against the city.
Although it’s almost impossible to hold police to account shooting someone point blank in the chest and then giving the shooter a medal is going to piss off even a conservative jury.
Unacceptable behavior on the cops part all the way around.
Sometimes I think anyone who actually applies to be a police officer should be automatically disqualified from being a police officer.
Here in America, where being a cop is just a license to beat or shoot whoever you want, we might be better off just giving the job to random citizens, like jury duty.
At least then the job won’t self-select for psychopaths and rageaholics.
