I worked just outside of Amsterdam a million years ago and I remember being in the red light district one bank holiday weekend as I was unable to fly home to the UK and it was surreal.
Thousands of people all walking in the same direction with their heads locked either to the left or the right depending on what side of the canal they were on. You just had to go with the crowd if you wanted to actually get anywhere.

I will never understand people who live in a major city with tourism and act like it’s the tourists fault for visiting.
I visit Amsterdam for work occasionally and they’re always such hostile people.
