A bill that would ban Skittles and other foods, which officials say contain certain chemical toxins, is making its way through the California legislature
I really hate the language “which officials say contain toxic chemicals”. It makes it seem like politicians are making shit and not using scientific research to determine if the chemical is toxic or not.
i’d love for this to just apply everywhere. its absolutely ridiculous that EU gets different, “healthier” versions of the same exact product in the US. Why the fuck are these companies like this.
Not really sure why this is posted in this sub. We should have banned that shit (and thousands of other food additives that are banned all over Europe) a long ass time ago

I read the first 6 words of this title and immediately thought it was going to be Florida banning Skittles because of their slogan.

The EU bans chemicals that *might* be problematic. The US bans chemicals that have been *proven* to be problematic. I’m not sure which I prefer.

Totally fine with this and I don’t know why anyone would be defensive about their ability to eat food that has been made to be needlessly more toxic.
